As we look forward to the British & Irish Lions’ first Test against Australia, the broadcaster has released a laugh-out-loud film revealing the hilarious, off-duty antics of the squad – from skincare routines to surprise Zoolander impressions.
Just days before the British & Irish Lions take on Australia in the opening Test of the series, Sky Sports has released a funny new mockumentary offering fans a rare glimpse behind the curtain of Lions camp life.
Titled Living with the Lions: What Really Happens on Tour, the short-form video captures a more relaxed, and often ridiculous, side of the elite squad, featuring stars like Tom Curry, Tadhg Beirne, Ollie Chessum, and James Lowe engaging in everything from bedtime storytelling and meticulous skincare routines to striking their best Zoolander-inspired poses for the camera.
Also making memorable appearances are Zander Fagerson (sporting an Audrey Hepburn-inspired look), Garry Ringrose, Scott Cummings, and Pierre Schoeman – all caught in unguarded, often absurd, moments of downtime.
The behind-the-scenes spoof is fronted by social media star Paul Olima, aka ‘Rolling Thunder’, who plays a roving, rogue cameraman determined to uncover the “real” tour experience. With stealth, charm, and just the right amount of chaos, Olima brings us hilarious moments from inside the players’ shared rooms, gym sessions, and downtime rituals.
Adding to the fun, Sky pundits Dan Biggar and Sam Warburton also appear, caught on camera reminiscing about past tours during what they thought were private rehearsals. Alongside presenter Alex Payne, the trio share playful banter, including a cheeky nod to the number of Welsh pundits outnumbering the Welsh players this time around.
To top it all off, Sky has dropped a bonus blooper reel packed with outtakes, missed cues, and some truly questionable acting that didn’t make the final cut.
This tongue-in-cheek campaign forms part of Sky Sports’ broader commitment to offering fans not just world-class match coverage but immersive, character-driven content that brings supporters closer to the players and their personalities.
Catch Living with the Lions now on YouTube, with shorter clips available on Sky Sports’ TikTok, X, and Instagram channels. Meanwhile, for those interested, the British & Irish Lions’ first Test against the Wallabies kicks off this Saturday in Brisbane.
