IFC Films has set a July 8th U.S. release date for Claire Denis’ “Fire” starring Juliette Binoche, Vincent Lindon, Mati Diop, Bulle Ogier, Issa Perica and Hana Magimel.
The story deals with a woman caught between two men, her long-time partner and his best friend who is her former lover. Denis wrote the script with French novelist Christine Angot. [Source: IFC]
Beyblade
Jerry Bruckheimer is set to produce a live-action film adaptation of the toy franchise “Beyblade” for Paramount Pictures. Neil Widener and Gavin James are writing.
The toys, spinning tops that battle in arenas called Beystadiums, were originally developed by Japanese firm Takara and have been licensed by multiple companies. The toys have already inspired manga, anime and comics series. [Source: Deadline]
Morbius
Ahead of a final trailer release on Monday, Sony Pictures has debuted a short featurette about the film adaptation of Marvel Comics character “Morbius” which hits screens April 1st after five delays.
Jared Leto stars as Dr. Michael Morbius, a man suffering from a rare blood disease who begins a dangerous experiment to save himself and others like him. He soon begins experiencing dark and uncontrollable urges forcing him to feast on human blood.s
Euphoria
Offering arguably the best use of Bonnie Tyler’s “Holding Out for a Hero” since “Shrek 2,” HBO Max has now officially released the full-length clip of last weekend’s much talked about “Euphoria” dance number. The clip comes ahead of the show’s second season finale this Sunday.
In the clip, Ethan (Austin Abrams) and Lexi (Maude Apatow) lampoon the school’s tall, angry, homophobic jock quarterback Nate (Jacob Elordi) with a super camp high school dance number sending him up.
